Bay Area Folk Rock
The Treacherous French
Electronic Press Kit
The Treacherous French are a folk rock band from the San Francisco Bay Area. The songs they write are catchy yet complex, while staying true to their indie, blues, country, and alt-rock roots. All four members are veterans of their local music scenes, from punk rock to folk rock to dance rock to Celtic jazz folk fusion, and this blend of styles and instrumentation is what makes The Treacherous French unique.

The Music
The Treacherous French's music style draws on a range of influences, including traditional folk and country, as well as modern indie rock.
Sawdust & Fairytales is the band’s second full-length album, and represents a culmination of four years of songwriting since the release of their first album, Snapshots. The past four years in question had been turbulent for the band, having experienced a divorce, loss of a house due to a wildfire, and of course, a worldwide pandemic, all against the backdrop of some wild political shenanigans. Now, you may think that an album born from these experiences would be filled with heartbreak and sadness, and there are elements of that, but there are also elements of love and hope woven throughout. With songs that will both break your heart and make you want to dance, Sawdust & Fairytales reminds us that even in the darkest of days, life and love always find a way to shine through.
Check out Sawdust & Fairytales, as well as the band’s back catalog anywhere music is streamed, or better yet, pick up a CD or vinyl copy!
